Since elementary school, Shontay RacQuel has been an artistic individual who enjoys using her creativity for writing, drawing, and now, fashion. As a young child, Shontay was extremely quiet and introverted but used art to express herself. She would often listen to her Motown music CDs while sketching, and became inspired by the bold and outlandish styles of the 1960s and 1970s, which ultimately cultivated her design aesthetic. Shontay is described by many as reserved and quiet, however, her collections speak volumes and allow her presence to be felt and heard without her having to say a word.
