Please note that this document is a summary only and it does not replace the full version of SHEIN’s Marketplace General Conditions of Use (GCU) and SHEIN’s General Conditions of Sale (GCS). If there is any conflict or difference in interpretation between this summary and the GCU or the GCS, the full versions will take precedence. We recommend reviewing the complete GCU and GCS for full details.
SUMMARY OF SHEIN’S MARKEPLACE GENERAL CONDITIONS OF USE
1. What Does SHEIN Do? SHEIN runs an online marketplace where you can buy products from third-party sellers as well as Shein group entity. When you buy a product, you’re entering a contract with a third-party seller, which could be a SHEIN group entity if it’s a SHEIN branded product. SHEIN helps with customer service and makes transactions easier but isn’t legally responsible for the sale itself. Product listings follow the Ranking Policy that affects what items you see first.
2. Signing Up and Using the Site: To make purchases or access some features, you’ll need to create an account with accurate personal information. Incorrect details may cause delivery problems. Keeping your account secure is your responsibility, and you should notify SHEIN if there’s unauthorized access. SHEIN can limit or end your account access if you break the rules.
3. Pricing: Using SHEIN’s marketplace is free, except for possible connection costs. You will only pay for the items you buy.
4. Your Personal Data: Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
5. Wallet for Rewards and Credits: When you sign up, you’ll get an electronic wallet where you can keep coupons, bonus points, credits, and gift cards. Each type of reward has specific rules. For example, gift cards can’t be converted to cash and may be subject to expiration date. SHEIN may cancel gift cards if there’s suspicious activity.
6. Content and Intellectual Property: The content on SHEIN’s website (such as images, text, and videos) belongs to either SHEIN or the sellers, depending on who the author of such content is. You can use such content for personal reasons but can’t copy or sell it. If you post content, like reviews, you give SHEIN permission to use it for up to 10 years.
7. Text Messages: You can choose to sign up to get marketing SMS/MMS from SHEIN, but this is optional. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying “STOP.” It’s your responsibility to keep your phone number updated if you want to keep receiving messages.
8. Responsibility and Liability: SHEIN provides the platform for transactions but isn’t responsible for product issues, including pricing, availability, or descriptions. If something goes wrong with a purchase, you can reach SHEIN’s Customer Service and we will help you. To the extent permitted by the law, we aren’t responsible for damages related to events such as data loss, misuse of products, or service interruptions due to unforeseen events.
9. Reporting Problems: If you think a product or content on the site violates intellectual property rights you can report it here. If you believe a product or content is dangerous or illegal, you can report it to Customer Service. SHEIN may investigate and take action, like removing the item or notifying law enforcement. If something you posted gets removed, you will have the possibility to contest our decision.
10. Laws and Dispute Resolution: If there’s a disagreement, start by reaching out to SHEIN’s Customer Service. SHEIN’s GCU follow Irish law and fall under Irish court jurisdiction, but customers in other EU countries are also protected by their local consumer laws.
11. Company Information: SHEIN’s marketplace is operated by Infinite Styles Services Co., Ltd, a company based in Ireland.
SUMMARY OF SHEIN’S GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. How SHEIN Marketplace Works: SHEIN’s marketplace is a place for you to buy products from different sellers. SHEIN only facilitates the process—it doesn’t own or sell the products itself. You’re buying directly from the seller.
2. What are SHEIN's and the sellers' respective roles: The seller sells you the products and is responsible for the description and conformity of the product. SHEIN is not a party to the sales contract. SHEIN facilitates the payment, the returns process and issues refunds on behalf of the seller and generally handles fulfilment and delivery of the order. SHEIN's marketplace also operates your account.
3. Product Information: Each product page includes descriptions, photos, and details. Colours might look a bit different due to screen settings, but that’s normal and doesn’t mean there’s a defect.
4. Prices and Fees: The price shown includes taxes, but shipping and handling costs are added at checkout. You’ll see any additional charges before you finalize your order.
5. Placing an Order: To buy something, create a SHEIN account. Select your items, choose your delivery option, and enter payment details. You’ll get a confirmation email once your order is processed.
6. Delivery: Depending on the item and your location, your order can be shipped locally or internationally. Estimated delivery times are shown when you check out, and you’ll be notified of any delays.
7. Checking Your Order Upon Arrival: Once your order arrives, inspect it right away. If something is wrong (like damaged or incorrect items), contact SHEIN within a specific time. You can refuse a damaged package when it’s delivered.
8. Product Quality Guarantee: Sellers need to ensure products meet their descriptions and quality standards. If a product has a defect, you have two years to ask for a repair, replacement, or refund. That period may be longer depending on your national law.
9. Your Right of Withdrawal: You have 14 days to withdraw from order once you receive it, without needing to give a reason. Certain exceptions and conditions apply as set out in our GCS.
10. Additional Return Policy: On selected items, you will have 30 days from the receipt of the order to return items, in addition to your withdrawal right. You may choose either to get a refund or store credit. Certain exceptions and conditions apply as set out in our Return Policy.
11. SHEIN’s Responsibility: SHEIN isn’t responsible for any loss due to misuse, incorrect addresses, or other indirect issues like lost income, if an event beyond SHEIN’s control affects your order.
12. Your Personal Information: SHEIN’s Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is handled and protected.
13. Contact Information: If you have an issue with a product, you can reach out to the seller through SHEIN’s Customer Service. For questions about using the SHEIN’s platform, you can reach us at any time by email at the Privacy Center or through our Customer Service .
14. Resolving Issues: In case of disagreement with SHEIN or with a seller, you can reach out to SHEIN’s Customer Service.
15. Governing Law: The rules here are based on Irish law, and any legal disputes will be handled in Irish courts. SHEIN’s GCS follow Irish law and fall under Irish court jurisdiction, but customers in other EU countries are also protected by their local consumer laws.
