1. Introduction
We invite you to share your opinion about the products you have purchased on the SHEIN website. This can help other users learn more about the product and decide whether it is suitable for them or not.
All SHEIN product reviews (product evaluations or product reviews) published on the SHEIN platform are submitted by users who have purchased such a product through their SHEIN account. This ensures that all published SHEIN reviews are based on verified transactions.
Be sincere: We value your honest opinion about the product. Be sincere, whether it is positive or negative. We do not remove comments, as they are important. Your review should relate to a product you have purchased, used, and/or returned. SHEIN does not tolerate reviews intended to deceive or manipulate, and we do not offer extra points for positive reviews. Fake reviews and recommendations ("prohibited reviews") are not allowed.
The content of your review is considered “User Generated Content” under our Terms and Conditions. Please refer to our
Terms and Conditions if you would like to learn more about SHEIN's rights to User Generated Content. Your content is subject to this policy and to the Terms and Conditions.
We never pay our users to write positive reviews about products sold on SHEIN. By writing a review (positive or negative), you are eligible to receive SHEIN bonus points. Click on the
link for information about the conditions and amount of bonus points you can receive, how to use them, and whether any restrictions or exclusions apply to earning bonus points.
2. WHO CAN WRITE A REVIEW AND WHEN?
2.1 SHEIN reviews
Only users who:
(a) are logged into their account (and are therefore verified users); and
(b) have successfully completed payment for the relevant order; and
(c) whose relevant order is marked as delivered
are permitted to write a review about the product or products they have ordered and purchased in the relevant order.
The ability to post a review is linked to SHEIN’s ability to associate a user's account with their order history, so that reviews can only be submitted for products that have been purchased.
If you do not confirm payment for the order, you cannot post a review about a product you have purchased within that order, as the option ‘Leave a comment’ or ‘Comment’ will not be available to you if we have not been able to verify that you have completed such a purchase.
You can post a review for each product you have purchased and received within 6 months of placing the order. After this period, you can no longer post a review for a product. You will not be able to update or edit your comments after you have submitted them.
A product with the same SKU (or product reference) in an order can only be reviewed once.
2.2. Imported reviews
Sellers may import reviews from other sales platforms (e.g. Amazon) or their own websites.
These reviews are clearly marked as 'REVIEWS FROM OTHER PLATFORMS' on the product detail page so that you can distinguish them from reviews submitted by SHEIN customers.
3. HOW TO WRITE A GREAT REVIEW?
1. Description: Describe how the product feels, the type of fabric, its use... and whether you recommend it or not. Give other users valuable information.
2. Add a photo: You can upload a clear photo of the product. Even better if it’s a photo of the part of the body while you’re wearing the product. Show what it really looks like.
3. Not too short, not too long: Written reviews must be at least 20 words and are limited to 1000 words. The ideal length is 75 to 500 words.
For each product review, you are asked to select a rating option using 'stars' from 0 to 5, with 5 stars being the highest rating. This helps calculate the overall score of the product, as described below.
3.1. It is recommended to:
• Upload 3 photos
• Use the comment tags
• Make sure the photos are clear
3.2. How can you earn bonus points?
All reviews posted on the website (positive or negative) can earn you bonus points according to the Bonus Points Policy.
You only need to:
(1) Meet the word count requirement, +5 points
(2) Upload image(s), +10 points
(3) Enter complete sizing information, +2 points
4. REVIEW GUIDELINES
4.1. Verification and moderation of reviews
SHEIN uses various measures to ensure that reviews are authentic (i.e. linked to verified transactions) and comply with this policy:
• Only users who have purchased a product through their SHEIN account and have received delivery can submit a review for that product.
• Reviews are automatically checked for prohibited content (e.g. blasphemy, unrelated text, links). See the rules and restrictions in section 4.3 below.
• Accounts with unusual activity (e.g. many reviews in a short period) are flagged for further inspection.
• We manually review flagged reviews and also conduct random checks.
• Users can also report reviews that do not match the product or contain inappropriate content using the 'Report' icon on each review.
• Reviews that violate this policy may be removed. Reviews found to be in violation of this policy may also result in suspension of the account.
We also conduct checks on imported reviews to ensure transparency and detect possible manipulation. This includes manual checks to confirm that reviews pertain to the same product and appear genuine, as well as monitoring for suspicious patterns. If suspicious activity is detected, such as coordinated review campaigns or irregularities in seller behavior—like importing only 5-star reviews or using predefined review content (templates)—our Review Product Team may further investigate the relevant reviews and remove them if necessary.
4.2. How long does it take for my review to appear online?
When you submit a review, it is evaluated both manually and electronically and will be posted on the website within 72 hours, provided it complies with the current Review Policy and our Terms and Conditions. This period may be somewhat longer if your review contains photos, so please be patient.
4.3. Are all reviews published? Why was my review rejected or removed?
Yes, we publish all reviews that comply with this policy and our Terms and Conditions, and we publish both positive and negative reviews.
However, if we determine that a review violates this policy and/or our Terms and Conditions (e.g. if it is fake, incentivized, or does not comply with the rules), we may not publish that review. If it has already been published, we will remove it. Please ensure you are aware of our review guidelines and restrictions before submitting a review. If you are not satisfied with the non-publication or removal of your review, you can file a complaint via our
customer service .
For clarity: we never remove reviews solely because they are negative, and we do not interfere with customers’ ability to leave negative feedback.
We take reasonable and proportionate steps to prevent prohibited or inappropriate reviews, to ensure that reviews are genuine and reflect the experience of real consumers (see section 4.1 above). This includes removing such reviews and updating related ratings so that information is displayed accurately.
The product reviews displayed for a product may include feedback from products that offer similar qualities to the product currently being viewed by the consumer.
4.4. Rules and restrictions
If your review does not meet the requirements of this policy or our Terms and Conditions, it will be rejected or removed:
Your review must:
- Be personal: It must originate from the buyer and user of the product.
- Be your own: Write the review in your own words, not someone else's.
- Be sincere: Be honest and provide your personal opinion about the product.
- Be focused: Describe and evaluate one product, not multiple products at the same time.
- Be relevant: Discuss only the product.
- Be concise: Be clear and practical; reviews should help other users decide whether a product is right for them or not.
We cannot accept the following reviews:
• Reviews that are not about the product. - A review can only relate to a specific product. Do not use a general review for all products; we must ensure the reliability of the reviews.
• Reviews containing inappropriate or offensive content. - Inappropriate content means reviews that contain obscenities, blasphemy, URLs not from SHEIN, videos with watermarks, or the content or material of other people (including excessive quotations).
• Incitement of hate and offensive content. - We do not allow reviews that contain intolerant expressions towards people belonging to identity groups, including race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or nationality.
Customers may comment on products and question the expertise of authors, sellers, or other customers, as long as it is not threatening.
• Promotion of unlawful behavior. - Reviews must not promote or support illegal behavior such as violence, use of illegal drugs, underage alcohol consumption, or abuse of children or animals.
• Positive or negative reviews in exchange for monetary rewards. - We do not allow anyone to submit reviews that are written as a form of promotion, personal interest, or where customers are in any way incentivized to change their reviews, etc.
• References/advertisements or third-party links. - Reviews may not contain trademarks, logos, or images of products from other retailers or external links. If you wish to write a comparative review, you can use a general description, such as “other retailers on the market” or “other brands.” Do not post content whose main purpose is to promote a business, website, author, or special offer.
• Personal information. - Reviews must not contain personal information of yourself or any third party, so do not include an email address, phone number, address, name (other than your username), etc.
4.5. How is the average score or rating of a product calculated?
The score is systematically calculated based on the aggregated rating from each customer who has purchased the product and confirmed the order for the same SPU (Stock Keeping Unit).
4.6. How is the order of reviews determined?
By default, reviews on SHEIN are displayed in the 'recommend' view, which is designed to highlight the most relevant and helpful feedback for consumers. This system uses automated analysis to assess the overall quality of each review, taking into account various factors such as the number of 'helpful' votes from other users, whether images have passed image moderation, and whether the review matches the user's browsing language.
We allow users to switch to alternative display options, such as chronological order, so they can see the full spectrum of feedback.
5. CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATION
Violations of this policy mean that the website and the products sold on it become less reliable, safe, and useful. Therefore, we apply this policy very strictly, and if someone violates this policy and/or our
Terms and Conditions , we may remove their reviews/content, restrict that user's ability to post reviews, and/or suspend or terminate their account.
If such a violation also constitutes a breach of applicable law, we may need to refer the matter to local authorities, which could result in legal action and civil or criminal penalties.
